Thanks for leading me in the right direction Swetz! I figured out how to get the specs.
Some people might argue with me, but I wouldn’t hold up putting my cylinder back on for those. Unless you are running hundreds of hours a month or in dirty, muddy conditions, you will be replacing the machine before the seals in those. Splash a little extra grease in the zerk and see ya later.Swetz, Now that is very interesting. The guy I am dealing with told me the only way to get those grease seals was to buy the complete seal kit for 400 plus. But your right I need 6 of the 83931289 as well as the same type seals for the other 2 cylinders. I need 4 of the 85801025 and 4 of the 9824067. If you don't mind my asking where was you able to get the information showing the specs on the grease seals? I could really use the specs for the other two seals I need. Thanks
Also, your problem there was that you went to a NH dealer. They are only going to replace it with NH parts, not aftermarket.Don't get me wrong, I am very pleased with the capabilities of my backhoe, it is so strong but, I agree with you totally. If I was running a business I would have no use for a New Holland. The company doing my rebuild is actually a New Holland Dealer and they are having problems getting the needed parts for the rebuilds. I am not by any means talking bad about the guys rebuilding my cylinders, this is a Corporate New Holland issue.
Reason why you might have a delay is because they can’t get the seals. Checking on the Hercules website for a few I needed they were back ordered for over a month.Sorry I haven't responded earlier, didn't realize there have been new posts. Joe, if the old seals were anywhere near intact I could do that. Unfortunately, the seals have been there so long that all the rubber on every seal just fell apart during the removal of the cylinders. The metal case of the seals only give me the OD and Width. Believe it or not I am still waiting for the call to come pick up the cylinders. 2 of them are done but they still haven't gotten the dipper cylinder done. I am not sure right now exactly how I am going to respond if I don't get that call this week but I am not happy with the delay. Cosmaar, I am thinking seriously about not replacing all the seals if I have problems getting the seals from a bearing and seal company in a timely manner. I know that I do want to at least replace the 4 grease seals on the bucket cylinder because those seals will be so close to the dirt and mud. But just might take your advice on the rest of them. Hopefully I will update you guys that I at least have the cylinders back later this week. Thanks for your responses and hope ya'll have a good week.

The seals for the frame that connects to the boom/travel lock didn't fit but I decided what the hell I'll just be sure to hit that one pin with grease more often. Finally got the cylinders 4 days ago (Tuesday) and the grease seals arrived yesterday so today I got to play mechanic! It feels good to have her running again. In the morning I'll grease up the pins and run her for a few minutes to make sure there are no leaks. Then after my dear season is over it's time to dig up tree stumps! Thanks for all the answers and help guys. It is nice to have somewhere to go and get help. Ya'll have a great Weekend! That's funny!Sometimes I wonder if any of you guys use these machines or just clean them?
Waste of time. That just gives the paint more protection! That's funny!
I only spend time cleaning my hoe when she blows a hose...LOL
