    Bobcat wheels

Does anybody know of a source for wheels for Bobcat skids other than the dealer? My dealer wants $250.00 a wheel and I'm thinking there's gotta be someone selling these cheaper. Thanks.

    How much can it lift?

Hey guys. I'm going to be renting a Cat 315L from the Cat Rental Store for a job we have. How much weight can this lift at let's say max reach? We have to move some pretty big boulders and I think we can roll them, not too sure about lifting them though. Can't find any info on Cat's website. Thanks.

    Broken track

Well today we managed to break a steel track on the new Bobcat 430 with a whopping 19 hrs on it. The machine was barely moving the last 2 days and it was basically working in the top 4-6 inches of topsoil the tracks were turning up. One of the track pieces broke where it wraps around the pin...

    Jumping Jack

I bought a used Bomag BT60 jumping jack compactor at an auction the other day. It's in great condition and I paid $300.00 for it. My question is, how much material can this compact per lift? I tried it out in the yard and it was pounding a hole to China pretty fast so I assume it can do a...

    drain pipe

Hey guys. I'm going to do a job where we're digging a 4-5 foot deep by about 14 inch trench 160 feet long. This will be filled with 1 or 3" clear gravel. The homeowner wants this done to try and divert underground water to another location. My question is this: Would you bother putting any pipe...

    Controls

As a relatively newcomer to the world of excavating I am used to the two stick pattern on most modern excavators and backhoes. Could someone please identify the five sticks in the photo. I'm guessing the foot controls do the boom swing and 1 and 5 are stabilizers? It's a picture of a '78 Case...

    Recip saw

I didn't know where else to post this so I stuck it here. I'm in the market for a cordless reciprocating saw. Probabaly an 18 volt model. It will mainly be used for cutting pipe, metal, wire etc. in remote locations. What are some suggestions on which model to get and why? I'm thinking DeWalt or...

    Over the tire rubber tracks

I've seen a few ads in some equipment mags for these. Has anyone had any experience with these? Anybody know a ballpark price on them? I'm curious to know how they would hold up. I'm thinking about getting some steel tracks for my skidsteer but am put off by the damage they'll do to driveways...

    Switches

This is actually two questions. I have a 2003 Bobcat 763G and have the parking brake switch in the middle of 6 other switches above the door. The other 6 switches are blank yet behind them are 5 plug ins. I was wondering if I got the switches would the blinker and 4 way flasher ones work or are...

    Gear oil

This thread is meant for Salesrep but by all means please respond. My Bobcat 430 mini-x calls for SAE-90w in the final drives. All I can seem to find is either 75w90 or 80w90. What's the difference? I did find some SAE-90w but it said it was for marine use. :beatsme

    ConExpo

I see on Bobcat's website they're advertising their display booth at the ConExpo. They have about 35 machines in the picture. Is there really that many in the display? If so the WOW. At the last Heavy Equipment show around here they had 2. That show must be huge.

    laser level

I will be buying a laser level this spring and I'd thought I'd ask you guys for your opinion on what features to get/ not get. I looked at some last year so I have an idea what the basics are. I was thinking about the 1 man type where you slide the receiver up and down until it beeps. I could...

    Shows

Are there any heavy equipment shows in the Maine, New Hampshire area? We have one every two years in Moncton NB but it's mostly for logging. I'm talking something half decent to make the 8-10 hr drive each way worth while. Course, I could stop for a :drinkup or two or twelve and make a night...

    What are you buying?

Gee, I think I just saw a tumbleweed roll by on this site..hello?.....hello?...anybody? :sleeping Seriously, I'd though I'd try to get the ball rolling on some more activity around here. I just viewed DKinWA's reply in another thread stating he was considering purchasing a mini-x. That got...

    Best tip

I saw this on lawnsite and thought it might go over good here. What is the best money/time saver you've come up with over the years. It can be your own or something you "stole" from somebody else. I'm relatively new but I do have one. When doing a 360' in my skidsteer on (old, parking lot etc.)...

    Work load

This is for you guys in the northern parts (cold and snowy). Are you still excavating? How's the start of winter been so far?. Here in Nova Scotia work for my company has slowed a little but we're still at it. Had our first major snowfall last weekend. That was about a month earlier than last...
