Ramps for skid steer don't fit in truck - what to do?

Thanks for all the ideas. I have asked the ramp builder about hinging but they say that can only be done safely for lower load rating - up to 2.5t max. They say no way for 4.5t+ machine. I looked in Hendriks idea of racking them but I am trying to limit the lifting side of things, not hard to...

Ramps for skid steer don't fit in truck - what to do?

Photos of machine in truck Photo of loader in truck. Shows how little room there is either side. Not enough room to slide ramps in as well. Showing ramps... Close up centre... Close up right... Close up left...

Ramps for skid steer don't fit in truck - what to do?

OK, I've come up with a plan and it seems simple compared to the hydraulic lift option. I'm going to create 2 ramps at the front of truck deck and drive rear tracks up onto them. Then lift what remains of the machines tracks off the ground using the bucket resting on a wedge atback of truck...

Ramps for skid steer don't fit in truck - what to do?

Sorry guys, haven't loaded skid on truck to take photos yet. I had the truck down at engineers today and they are pricing up a lift system for it. Will let you know the outcome.

Ramps for skid steer don't fit in truck - what to do?

I'll take some shots tomorrow and post them up of the skid inside the truck. I'll also measure the ramps and let you know. I'm all for not spending $$ if I don't have to. I did think about just running some wood down each side to lift the tracks up. Problem is I can't fit both ramps side by...

Ramps for skid steer don't fit in truck - what to do?

yes correct, but also length in that I can't fit them under the skidsteer (even if only one of them) due to inset of ram in front of body does not let me put bucket flat on body when loaded (hits top of ramp) so I can't open cab door. Width is the biggest issue though. Does this all make...

Ramps for skid steer don't fit in truck - what to do?

G'day Squizzy, Truck is a Isuzu FVD 1000. Truck body is approx 5m long 2.3m wide (inside dimensions) but has an indent where the hydraulic lift is approx 1m in length and 500mm wide in centre of front of body. Ramps are 6 tonne and about approx 3.6 m long. Just had a call from a mate...

Ramps for skid steer don't fit in truck - what to do?

Hi, this might get moved to the truck forum but I thought I would post here first to see if you guys have any good ideas. I have a cat 279C that just fits into my tipper truck body. The problem is I have no room to store the ramps. The ramps are 51kg each so not easy to move around by myself...

Installing a stereo into a radio ready Cat cab

The plug that came with my 279c doesn't fit the sony, maybe it is for a clarion stereo. That isn't such a big deal as I can rewire that but I can't figure out or find a socket to plug it into onto the cats harness. I have lifted the cab and looked behind the radio position and nothing screams...

    NEW CAT Compact Track Loader

He spent over 5 hours onsite running me through both machines on delivery. In the end I just wanted to get into them and give them a run so I told him all was good and thank you very much. He would of stayed all day and the next if I wanted him too. He showed me so many things maybe I got...

    NEW CAT Compact Track Loader

Yep, mine looks exactly as in pdf. I guess that is the amics system on the top right side. Has an up/down arrow button that I am guessing sets speed but I haven't tried. I'll try tomorrow. Thanks.

    NEW CAT Compact Track Loader

Hi all, new to forum, just got myself a new cat 279C & 304ccr. Might be a stupid question - how do you know whether you have amics in the skid steer. I was supposed to get it but not sure what to look for. Guess I could ask the dealer but being impatient if I can get an answer tonight even...
