1979 Deere 410 parts manual... Legitimate seller?

Got online and bought what I was told was the parts manual for a backhoe we own. Thought it was strange as it said 410 - all years. I even wrote the company an email asking to be sure as they have been making the 410 for like 50+ years. They responded assuring me that my serial was covered...

    Vintage JD badging?

Trying to find a place that sells new, or reconditioned 70's JD metal badges, image attached. Mine are beyond repair. Seems to be harder to find than anticipated.

    JD Backhoe seat assembly options?

Got a 1979 JD 410 Backhoe delivered today. Absolutely hate the seat setup. Looking at options to replace it from the floor up. The factory seats from these years are wobbly at best. I see a few options out there for $1,200 and up but those would require a ton of custom fab work to install...

    Aftermarket AC's for old iron

Anybody ever seen anything in the way of aftermarket AC systems for Old Iron? Have a few old machines around, dozer, backhoe, Scraper etc. All 70's through early 80's stuff. Getting sick of sitting in cabs without AC on hot summer days. Looking into ideas to get AC units in them. Ideas?

Guess the year and model game

Looking at a backhoe, its a John Deere, but as it was restored the chances of finding an actual serial are slim. Only have these 3 photos. Anyone care to venture a guess.

    ISO: Loader Project, NM,TX,AZ

I've been searching for a wheel loader project for the winter for 4 months and have been striking out. Looking in the AZ, TX, or NM area. I try to find a winter restoration project every year and a loader this year is proving difficult. Ideal machine, 70's, 80's, 90's. John Deere, Cat...

    1940's D7 front pully?

Have a 1940's Cat d7, serial plate is gone so not 100% sure on the year exactly. The upper front pully seems to have grown legs and walked away ( a lot of thieves in the area ) trying to find a place to source one, or maybe a hydraulic conversion kit. Has already had the pony delete done.

    Help before purchase please.

Hello again all you heavy iron nuts. We're looking at adding another backhoe to our ranch and after our last purchase (international td25 dozer) thought we would do some digging first. There are several used equipment dealers not to far from us in TX. Most of the machines we are looking at are...

    86 d3b laser machine control ?'s

So we have a few laser level systems sitting around for our tractors, and after going to a trade show I got curious about adding laser machine control to our little 1986 D3B. It already has power beyond ports as the previous owner put grapples on the front which have since been removed. My...

    D3B breaking issue

Going to try and make this short. Had a cat service tech out to replace a throttle cable while we were out of town. Asked them to adjust the steering clutch while they were out. Got back today and the machine won't break on the left side, unless you are in reverse. I got into the machine and...

    D3B track tensioner problem

So we have an '86 Cat d3b (27y) serial. The track tensioner blew out. We're about 6 weeks away from rebuilding the entire undercarriage, from the chain/track down to idlers and tensioners. This blow out couldn't have happened at a worse time, it's 6 weeks to get all the parts as we had to order...

Cat D3B, cant find part number on pcc

We have a cat D3b, serial 27Y01619. I have searched pcc (parts.cat.com) to no end tying to find the throttle control group for the cab station and cannot hit the mark. Hoping some of you smarter than me folks can point me in the right direction. I want to replace the whole assembly, from where...

    '88 D3B - Name that part

Have an 88 D3B, was out working, went to back up and saw the part in these photos laying on the ground right behind me. Figured I better track it up to the shop and figure out where it came from, but after about 400 foot forward, the dozer quit moving, in all gears forward or reverse. Assuming...

1988 D3B, white smoke from bottom end of motor

So our little farm dozer started smoking this morning. Smoke is coming from the right hand side ( if your sitting in the seat) looks like from the oil pan area, but no signs of leaking oil. Smoke is white. The exhaust is not smokey at all. Our mechanic said he is 2 weeks out to get to us as he...

case 780 impulse buy, so many questions....

New member, thanks for having me! I was at a friend's house today and noticed an old backhoe sitting out behind the barn. A case 780. Their dad used to be an equipment mechanic and when he passed, he left a bunch of equipment on the property that was abandoned that he never fixed. Long story...
