The only thing that is a bona fide P.I.T.A. is the DPF. I've been kind of fussy, I will not interrupt it, and I always pay attention to where the gauge is, so if it's cold out, and it's getting close to a regen, I'll just leave the engine throttled up until it gets to it and done. I've put 670 hrs on it without an interrupted, failed, or manual regen.

What do you mean by regen?

Yes d.d. that what it is. Due to a work injury I had some time on my hands. I built a tug boat from a Billing Boats expert kit of the 'Smit Rotterdam' and I fiberglassed over wooden planked hull so it could be remote controlled. Then I needed something to tow so I milled up some red cedar and made the barge. I glassed the hull and made up small fir planks for the decking. The deck slides off the stern to gain access to inside of the hull for adding ballast and to install R/C stuff for raising and lowering ramp. Of course I needed something to go on barge that's when I started building machines. The tape measure is overall length of tug and barge. truckslake2011_0309033.jpg truckslake2011_0309034.jpg truckslake2011_0309042.jpg truckslake2011_0309039.jpg

Finally had time and not rushing to the ferry to swing by and check out this dry land sort. I followed a load truck to the scale and snapped a pick. Didn’t feel right trying to go in and snap more pictures during a busy time of the day. This yard is half way between Burlington and Anacortes on the slough.

632A9EB3-C8C0-44DC-A8AA-4909840B3E8B.jpeg This sort is up in Bellingham. There was a security check point with a security guard. I asked if I could just take a picture just on the other side of the gate. He said no cause it is on port property. Then I asked if I could take a picture through the fence. Same answer. So I got a picture from the street above it.

Much activity going on in the sort, many people logging near there?

Wish I could truly answer that but I live on San Juan Island and I don’t get to the mainland a whole bunch. But the two sorts were full of logs and sierra pacific mill on highway 20 yard was full. My guess is the activity is pretty good. When I am off island I usually see a hand full of loaded trucks heading for the sorts in skagit valley. It’s interesting when you drive highway 20 into Burlington you can see all the different blocks up on the foot hills of the cascades. It’s a pretty sight when there is a dusting of snow low in the mountains.
Wish I could have been able to get better pictures. I don’t get logging photo opportunities a lot.

Hallback, that machine looks slightly different to the 2954D you posted up thread, looks fairly new. Decent size machine, very nice.

Yes, it is the new G Series 3756. It is a great machine. My old 2954 is headed to California.
