This was at the last Prince George auction, it's a '92.
trackloader has some interesting info on it, this is what he had said on the same photo when I had posted on Facebook
"Cypress originated those machines before buying out Madill. They put the Madill name on them after the takeover because Madill was the better known name."
Tell me what you think about it, it had sold for $21,500CDN

No they stopped making 009 in 1983 I think the plate is either from a 171,120 or a 075.Here's a list of models, manufacture dates and S#:
Here's an explanation of many of the Madill numbers on the yarders, approx number of machines built and in which period they where built, as I have collected from various sources. The type nbr seems to have been used in manufacturing and for part numbers - feel free to add more info in the forum:

I'm sure the pictures are switched, I think that plate is actually off the 009 beside it.

A couple of thoughts - of the three yarders in the pic, the plate has to relate to the small one on the left. Now I remember hearing something around that time that Madill produced some small yarders of which a few were exported to South America although why it's not on the #list is baffling.
Notwithstanding the colour and the plate, it also looks very much like a TY 40.

I know the TY 40 was a skidder mount but this machine has a different style operator cab, when I said a skidder mounted yarder I meant a Madill skidder mounted yarder.I saw a couple pictures of them but I can't remember the model, and in the picture you can see only one corner of the machine.

Just repeating DD. Madill made a skidder mounted small yarder which was a 1400. The build plate is off that.

Madill Swing Yarder in Mining??

Hey everyone, I've been perusing this forum for a while now. Recently I came across a need for a yarder to excavate overburden in a surface mining application. I've seen on this site a few pictures of tower yarders and swing yarders being employed in gravel/sand pit dredging applications. I was wondering if anyone has any information or pictures on using a swing yarder in mining/excavation?

Thanks in advance for your help, much appreciated!
