That looks exactly like one of our milk hauler's trucks, specs and all. He bought his from North Dakota, was told it was ex-oilfield. They got it home and it wouldn't pull their large tanker worth a damn. They ended up doing a bunch of engine work to it right away, though I never heard exactly what was wrong. Truck pulls a milk tanker daily grossing 150,000+ pounds at the end of the route.

I see occasionally out on the super slab, there are Central Asian truckers I think, Pakistan or India I don't know, nothing super special on the outside of the truck but inside there is like a curtain with pom poms hanging from it where a sun visor would go. I don't know how I could drive with something dangling in front of my face and moving about.

Wonder if it dawned on them they are trying to pull too much.

Michigan weight laws allow up to 164,000 pounds gross on 11 axles with no permits, provided vehicle is properly plated for weight. When I was a kid, all the milk haulers ran straight trucks. As milk production increased on their routes, milk haulers shifted to tractor/trailers in the 90s. Then as fuel prices crept up in the 2000s, the tanker trailers got bigger and bigger. Our hauler has switched to the biggest tankers he can pull in the last 4 or 5 years and said it has removed about a quarter of his trips, allowing a smaller crew of drivers to get their daily work done.

I wonder what the road beds look like---that were designed and built how many years ago.
There is a concrete plant that set up just a few years ago on a back country blacktop 5 miles from town. What a mess they will be gone some day and there neighbors will still be driving that torn up road.

It's a Aussie mock up, converted headlights with windshield stone guard and DEF probably
a deleted system, pretty common up there.

The tank looks like its a def tank converted to hydraulic wet kit. That filter head on the top of the tank looks like the return filter set up a lot of my cranes use. And it looks like a hydraulic hose leading to it.

I wouldn't think it would be easy to clean def out enough that I'd want to run hyd in it, but that's just me.

I wouldn't either C.O. but it has become a common practice. A short 30 gal refer fuel tank makes a nice
hydraulic tank.
