    D31p idler

I replaced mine about a year ago on a D31p-17. If I remember correctly, mine seemed a little off too but I ran it a while before I tightened the he** out of the bolts. It seemed fine to me after that. Still doing fine.

Questions for IUOE local 150 members

I'm a traveling union worker. I joined local 624 operators union when I lost my rear farming in 2000. Joined in 2001 and have never looked back. Every year my retirement gets better. I've worked out of 150, they have good pay and great benefits. Good luck.

1985 Bobcat 743 skidsteer rear main blowing

Thanks for your help. I suspect that this is the problem but at least it's an easy fix. Pulling the engine is not too bad. Everything is cleaned up now and I put mostly new bolts back in everything. It will take 3 to 4 days to get a new seal anyway. Again, big thanks for your help.

1985 Bobcat 743 skidsteer rear main blowing

Lol, thanks for this! There is a plug where mine should be! I was actually wondering today what originally went there. This is helpful. Not sure if it's my issue but I'll certainly look into this. Unfortunately I only have a pic of one side of the motor before I reinstalled it. Pulling the valve...

1985 Bobcat 743 skidsteer rear main blowing

This is what the rear seal looked like when I pulled the engine. Yes sir, I decided to do that after reading up some but if this V1702 has a crankcase vent, I'm not aware of it. Also, I noticed the dipstick was loose a while back and put some tape on it, to make a better seal. Your comment gets...

1985 Bobcat 743 skidsteer rear main blowing

Recently the front engine seal went out. It appeared to be normal wear and age. (no idea of the hours) Replaced it and one hour into work and the rear main popped. Loud enough that I thought it was a hydraulic line. Nope, rear main. Pulled engine and replaced it. Wear ring looked great. Ran it...

Section for komatsu d20,21 and similar grey market dozers

I like that. I'm going to do that with my d31. It would have to help with the heat if nothing else.

    D31p 17 steering clutches

I should that when I hit the right brake the left track is weak. In soft soil where the tracks get a good bite is where it's the worst.

    D31p 17 steering clutches

My D31 is having trouble turning to the right. It's something that has been gradually getting worse but after clearing a few acres last week, it has gotten almost too bad to push with but still travels straight just fine. Until you load the blade. It's about an 87 model and it has the steering...

    Bobcat 553

Thank you much, I was hoping that was all it may be. I've only had the old gal a few months and this is the first problem I've had. It's parked, btw. Thanks again

    Bobcat 553

Is there any chance that one could be partially stripped? My 743 recently lost almost all power (not all) with the hydraulics and it's making a loud whining and grinding sound. It did it suddenly, no warning at all. The hyds barely work but still do a little. Tia
