    Case 310G

A long shot, but here goes: Have a Case 310 G with 148 Gas engine and backhoe attachment. The backhoe hasn't been attached in 20+ years but worked fine when I removed it. I'm sure the hoses are shot and rust spots are appearing on the extended cylinder rods. Definitely will need work to make...

    Cat 232D

I can easily provide a serial #, but suffice to say that the machine came from the Cat factory in late SEP19. Actually, an option of a toggle switch to switch from ISO to H is what was quoted at $682.00 to include the field service charge of installation (at my farm) some 20 miles from their...

    Cat 232D

Bought a new 232D from Foley Equipment a month ago. Just discovered they want $800.00 to switch the ISO over to H pattern. Is this a simple fix or is it something an owner/operator should/could attempt. Nothing was said at time of purchase about control function and Foley apologizes but won't...

    Case 310

Have a 310 Case loader for sale for $6,000.00. Undercarriage was completely replaced 300 hours ago. 148 gas engine uses a little oil. Have a 201 engine (overhauled) on a stand which I was going to install, but never did. Backhoe attachment included but I've not used or mounted it (backhoe)...

    Bobcat 553

As a follow up: pump shaft is not turning with the engine and that is where the noise is coming from. The coupling between engine and pump seems to be a rubberized affair with a lot of end play. Pump shaft seems to be splined beyond where coupling extends to. No sign of any metal shavings...

    Bobcat 553

Have a 553 that I bought new about 2005 with a total of 332 hours on it. I used it this morning to shuttle concrete from the mixer to forms and no problems. Lit it up a few minutes ago, moved it about 100 yards, loaded a bucket of rubble and a racket came from behind. Within a few seconds...

Where is the chaincase inspection/fill plug on this machine and is there one on each side?

    953 link removal

I need to remove one link as I'm out of adjustment on my 20Z 953. Idlers are in the 'high wear' position already and adjusters are all the way out. Will the idlers need to be moved back rearward to the 'factory new' position after a link is removed? I don't want to break the track before...

    953 track adjustment

1984 20Z: adjusters are all the way out and front idler is in the 'high wear' position. Tracks are not loose by any means but noticed last season metal shavings coming off outside of rails on left side. Sprockets are in good shape as are rollers and idler. Is it ever advisable to remove a...

    broken tap

Someone in the past has broken off a 1/2-13 tap in the 'nut' that one of the belly pan bolts threads into. I'd like to remove the tap before I reinstall said pan. Have a stick welder and plasma and would hope not to set myself on fire working upside down under machine. Hydraulic lines...

    lift cylinder hoses

1 5/16 crowfoot flare nut wrench will grab the nut on the high side hose but I'm afraid to torque it without supporting the elbow block off the hard line that goes to the cylinder (high side) end. Have ordered a 1 5/16 cheapo wrench that will require some grinding modification to (hopefully)...

    lift cylinder hoses

Have an early 953 (20Z) with a bad hose on the left lift cylinder. Seems almost impossible to replace but I did manage to remove both hoses, but now need to replace both. The issue is how to tighten connections between the hard lines coming from the cylinder and the hose ends. The fuel tank...
