Rust prevention on final drive hub

hi all I have just replaced the duo cone seals on my ex60-3 While replacing the seals I noticed the amount of rust built up around the seal lip. I cleaned this off with a wire wheel on a die grinder and it came up pretty good, albeit a bit pitted. Anyway put all back together and fingers crossed...

    Ex60-3 oil leak

hi all. My hitachi ex60-3 was recently leaking oil out between the final drive and sprocket. I replaced the brake piston seals, which were shot, drained the final drive and refilled to the correct level with gear oil. Even though I didn’t replace the duo cone seals on the final drive, I said...

How do I install this door glass?

I had to do this earlier this year. You leave the rubber in the frame. While it is rigid, there is enough flex in the frame to get the glass in. What I done was: Place frame on the floor, standing up. Put the glass into the correct channel on the bottom of the frame in the centre of the channel...

    Hydraulic oil temperature

hi all. I recently done a bit of a refurbishment on my hitachi ex60-3 excavator. It’s now back together and running good. When running the machine, I have been doing more checks on the machine than usual, just for the first few hours just to be sure everything is ok. I have been checking the...

Hydraulic cylinder gland nut leaking after rebuilding

Thanks for the reply. Ya I suppose I wont know if its damaged or not until I unscrew the gland a bit. I was very careful to keep everything straight and used plenty of lube to prevent the o rings getting damaged, so hopefully it's ok.

Hydraulic cylinder gland nut leaking after rebuilding

Hi all I recently put new seals in the dipper arm cylinder of my excavator. Today was the first day I ran it properly since resealing. There is a small weap of oil coming from between the gland nut and cylinder barrel. I guess the oil is bypassing the o ring seal on the gland nut. I used a...

Hitachi ex60-3 sliding window glass removal

Hi all I have stripped down the cab on my ex60-3 for spraying. I have removed all the glass from the cab. The sliding windows on the door and right hand side of the cab are in a metal frame which is just bonded to the cab. I have removed the frames, with glass from the cab. I would now like to...

24v radio to fit hitachi ex60-3

Haven’t been able to find any one that size in 12v either. The original is 24v, I do have a 12v single din radio in there already, mounted behind the seat , but it is gone faulty, vibration and dust seems to kill standard car radios pretty quickly, I would prefer one that would fit the original...
