Alright, vent closest to the ac is at around 65 or 70 on a 90 degree day. My gauges are fluctuating. Low side is fluctuating between 20 to 45 and high side is fluctuation between 325 and 150. I assume the clutch is engaging because it wouldnt be around the 65 degrees coming out. I cannot figure out the fluctuating. The low side line will be cold to touch at one point and then be warm or hotter at another point.

So, an update. I messed with everything on the a/c's. So I'm basically a proffesional now. No, just kidding. Started from scratch on r134a, still nothing. Took ac apart again from behind the seat. I know realized when I cleaned the "evaporator" it was the water core and that there are two of this back there. The evaporator was literally completely clogged. Cleaned and cleaned that thing and cleaned the inside of whole ac. This thing blows like a champ now! Who know!? I am now getting 50 inside the cab and gauges are closer to correct and not jumping around. Having a mechanic buddy come tomorrow and fine tune freon. Blows hard and am excited to get this cab thing a run! Lol thanks everyone! Taking ac apart is a b**ch btw. Lol

I imagine the 90-2 has the HVAC set up, did you remove the seat to work on your 75? I imagine it would be easier if you did. I'm asking beacause I want to pull mine apart on the 90 and give it a good cleaning.

cfpd,
That's great you got it fixed. I'm glad I found your thread, I have the EXACT same problem with my SVL75-2. Can you describe where the evaporator is and how to get to it? Or upload a photo? Do you have to lift the cab and access it underneath or can you can access it from within the cab? Thanks so much

I had to clean the evaporator when I bought my SVL75 used in 2015. I've found since that having the grate open so it recirculates the cab air helps airflow greatly. ( The grate with the 2 filters on top behind the seat). I close that in the winter and heat output is better. Last spring I tinted the windows and put sound deadener on every metal area in the cab. it made a huge difference this summer. I rarely put the fan on high, often using low speed kept the cab comfortable.

I did not remove the seat. However, I would do it next time if I had to. That was a pain in the rear.

I did not lift the cab. I basically pulled the seat all the way forward and took out every screw possible. Then, you have to take every screw out of the whole ac package back there to get the condenser apart. It is tight back there so be prepared to be cramped. Anything else let me know.

Just curious, I was servicing my 90-2 and decided to try to clean the evaporator behind the seat, did you guys disconnect all the AC and heat lines to do that so you could move the unit around, or did you just take it apart with the lines connected. It looks like a real pia to take the bracket off that holds the whole unit against the back of the cab since you can’t get to the two bottom bolts.

I took the heat core off I believe and left the ac one on due to the fact I couldn't get to all of it. It is a huge pain. There are tons of bolts on the back side holding it all together. Get you some gorilla tape for afterwards when nothing seals up again and seal off all the spaces where the foam used to be. Good luck. It is terrible to do but it is and was so worth it!

140 distorts at bottom. I put metal strap across bottom via 3 screw.
Seal 150, 160, & 170 sucks at, well, sealing.View attachment 198303

Because, the filter housing isn't directly connected to HVAC box. Stupid, really, but, that's what it is.

heymcall, I know this thread is a bit older but I joined here specifically with the hopes you could advise if the layout would be the same on an SSV-75? My machine is 2 years old and this summer the AC just isn't working. It starts out cool for a minute or two then it goes to just like a fan blowing. I do not have gauges but the cold line is cold, the hot is hot. I changed the filters, both inside and out about a month ago when I did my 500hr service, since the AC hasn't been run, they look great. Any help you, out anyone else could offer is appreciated.

Cleaned my SVL-90 evaporator about 1 month ago that was totally clogged without disassembling the case by back washing with a brake line bent to allow access using water. I flushes it until the water was clear. Made a huge difference. Make sure you seal that plastic cover contraption well.

Thanks for that tip. My machine being a tire machine, I am not sure if they are the same in terms of where everything's located. Behind my seat I have a grey cover but doesn't really appear much is behind it unless it goes into the engine compartment. Maybe I'll lift the cab again and have a better look.
