I bought a Reynolds 8c pan/scraper and got it hitched up to the tractor today. It has two hydraulic circuits with the most puzzling operation.
The first circuit lowers the pan (cut) as well as lifts the axles (cut). The second circuit raises and lowers the apron, lowers the axles (haul), and raises the pan (dump). To dump the pan, I have to activate lower the apron/raise the axles until the axles are maxed out, then it starts to raise the bowl. After the bowl is raised I can raise the apron to dump the load. If I push the first circuit the opposite way of lower pan/lift axles (cut) at the same time as lowering the apron on the second circuit, it speeds up the pan dump speed, but if I let go of the second circuit, the first circuit dead heads.
I figure something over the years was installed or adjusted incorrectly. I've tried to find an owners manual online for some guidance, but I haven't found anything yet. I have some general checking to do, the pan didn't want to cut very well, I'll check the cutting edges tomorrow. Does anyone have a spec for how high the tongue should be from the ground for the proper geometry?
I did get the tractor stuck, running off too far off the edge of the pile while pushing with the grapple to smooth the pile.
