Any of you guys watch this weeks AX men and almost have a stroke.

that old RO boom truck was lucky it was still on its out riggers. That was a bog azzed log to be swinging over the front with NO Front stabilizer.

not to mention the "cribbing" under the outriggers.

I dont have cable television so I cant watch Ax men Dualie. But I agree whith your observation.Always have a stabilizer down or cribbing when swinging over the front on a boom truck or crane.

The worst part is that's probably not the dumbest thing i've seen him do. I would think they would atleast wear life jackets. From what i've heard he got shut down by the G-men for various and assorted reasons.

It was one of the dumbest "professional" things I've seen in a long time. ILMAO for sure. It was amazing that the outriggers held! That show is annoying and overly repetitive, same with the drama rig towers! some interesting stuff but enough with the DRAMA!

ok... yeah the crane incident was not his most brilliant moment.... But did you see him put that log in his 4-runner and tie it down with a motorcycle strap and head for the mill? In the one scene you see a trooper off to his side, but no ticket.

I'm not going to go down the highway with a log sticking outa the back of my suv.... especially if I had a dumptruck at my disposal... shows has to be rigged. no way could a man reach that age and be that stupid.

They call it reality television. In fact It's the opposite. It's as fake as a soap opra. They will let anyone get in front of a film camera these days.I would rather watch old episodes of "Bonnanza" & "Gunsmoke".They had well trained actors on those sets. And a plot that had a happy ending.

we TIVO most of the shows we watch and when jimmy the screamer comes on yelling at his kid I just fastforwrd through it .The best one was the helo pilot that at first could not fly right seat as he got air sick (guess this expalins him only having like 150 hrs flying time) Then they send him up solo and he works 5 hrs and gets air sick so he lands and calls it a day , BUt then the next shot shows him eating a bag of chips or something . Something wrong for sure , then little JM Browning jr screaaams at the video people som obicienty and wants to throw the hammer at them  Sounds like he could us a anger management class for sure .

I do the same thing, just keep the remote in my hand the whole show. I normally finish an episode in 30min skipping commercials and the serious bs.

I give the Browning kid a break, probably b/c his dad reminds my of mine. Every notice every time his pissed somethings broken? It sucks trying to get anything done when you have angered the machine gods. It doen't help that i probably would throw a mini sledge at a camera if a belt broke on the baler and they started asking me a bunch of dumb questions.

Brad on the other hand, was an out of work- wait for it- Environmental Engineer. The most fun i had watching that show was the goofy noises he would make trying to do work. I take that back the day he got his focus or whatever stuck on the logging road was better, but only by a little bit.

At first i didnt like the JR browning kid but really hes doing the best he can and its a stressful position.

I Remember when i first started working for my father i started drilling holes when i was 8 then more and more responsibility's finally he said ALL the field work was MY SHOW. I was OVERWHELMED by a dumb title. i had already run the show for months at that point as our SR. field super was in failing health.

It seemed like the first 3 years all i was doing was fighting equipment and it turned me into a tyrant. A REALLY slave driver to make up production. we persevered through that and through hard assed work we upgraded allot of our equipment just in time for the economy to tank. OOOPS .... but its all paid for.

if someone would have stuck a camera in my face at any moment during that time. The worst day was we had 4 engine drive welders on site and ALL 4 of them **** the bed in the same day. NO Site power at all.

they might have found a smashed camera next to a camera man in a shallow grave that day.

Loosing your temper is a sign of ignorance. Not that we haven't all done it, but ignorant people with no education and no ability to be creative get angry and mean.

Productivity means nothing if your crew doesn't respect you, the guys I have always respected the most and have worked the hardest for found a way to get the job done without blaming someone else for their shortcomings.

It's a good show, just gets a bit much with the announcers voice-over. I hope some these idiots friends and families are dumping all over them in regards to their acts of stupidity. :pointhead

Atgreene i agree.

Unfortunately theirs no cliffs notes for any of the texts books in the school of hard knocks. Lessons learned the hard way.

I heard you just learn more creative words to use ;) take my dad straight on to the farm after school has about 5 words he uses (no swear words at all) now myself after school I did a couple of engineering courses and after 3 year my vocab was a lot larger.

I liked to catch what I can of Ax Men, the Riggers (my brother was the one to discover that who said he wants to go and work for one of them as it appealed to his geology side) but I prefer the Ice Road Truckers.
