The Arrow trucks dump sideway ways , each trailer has a big hook for a chain to hook to as well as the truck , the whole unit tips up on the left side. The thought behind this is there is more Copper Concentrate payload can be carried on each trip. Also if a truck goes down trailers can be hooked up to any other trucks they have in their fleet.

If I was to rebuild another truck it would be a Star of this era. One of my favorite truck designs.
Other than a B model with retarder and jakes, it would look like this--stock as a rock.

Do you have the magic touch to make the retarder work and not leak? There are those who say it can't be done.

Resealed several-Most leaked after a reseal because wrong O-rings were used. Plus Cat up graded
the replacement rings to a better material to handle the heat. Last one I did ran 500K before any
weeping started. But for a real strong retarder a little know trick -replace the 3406 stator for a
3408 stator, just have to keep a eye on oil temp a little more.

I see 8 luggers on that last Star. What was the idea on those? The boss bought a chip trailer with them and swapped to 10 lugs right away for compatibility with the spares that we keep mounted. Tried to sell the wheels to the tire shop who said he had a pile of them out back already.

Probably not any worse than a W900L, the T990's are not light either. There's still a few with good cabs.
KW's of that vintage most have stress cracks all over the fiberglass roof cap. Pete has there issues too.
