Just as I thought sealed not Seal.
You can seal up a seal the Eskimos did. They made a tank out of them to hold whale oil.Just as I thought sealed not Seal.

then I saw the crack in the block
the governor, most equipment engines had the variable speed governor whereas most truck engine applications did not use the variable speed governor. If you put a truck app engine in it you won't be happy with the throttle control while driving and working the loader functions.
The blower only fits on one side of a inline 71 ,if you have to have the blower on the other side the block has to be turned around. and most every thing swapped.Just be aware that what ever you buy could have been completely changed from a different model in the past. What I mean is that I have swapped blowers from one side of an engine block to a different side before. Have swapped camshafts and ballance shafts from 1 side to another on 53's. Sometimes we had to move the Idler Gear of the gear train to make a different configuration. As kshansen showed in his above post there is 4 kinds of left hand engines and 4 right hand engines. Even if you have a serial number, that is not a absolutely guaranteed to be the style of engine you need. Just be careful before buying . I built 1 Engine from about 6or7 wrecks. Take care.
