Everytime I think I've forgotten having had to keep those things running someone posts a photo and I get pulled back.

Love the Houghs. I have many pounds of knuckle left on those things.

Thanks for the photos!

Awesome pics. Is there a particular name for loaders where the cab articulates with the loader arms (Dresser) opposed to just the loader arms articulating?

The 980 was taken at Cleveland Bros in Wilkes Barre PA.
The 992 loading the 773 was taken during the cnstruction of Interstate 84 around Elmhurst PA.
The 988 was also processing material for another Coal Mine Backfill project, in Eynon or Peckville PA.
The 950 loading the Mack was taken in Dunmore PA.
The Hough 120 was taken in Dickson City, on a coal mine backfilling project. The material was ground up and flushed into mine shafts under the Hill section of Scranton.
The 560 loading the Brockway was around Olyphant PA.

KW Dart Loader 70's

Does anyone remember the KW Dart loader? It had an offset cab, mounted on the outside of the arms. Savin Bros. (Balf) had one on the Rt 2 job around Bozrah, Ct in the early 70's. It was a monster for it's time - I recall it having a 16-18 yd bucket. Looked much larger than in this photo. Better photo's would be appreciated.

Thanks for the pics BigDig,
Those 992s were a great looking loader.
That's a nasty little hill that the D9 & 992 are taking out.
In the early 90's I saw a couple of Darts on a minesite in Western Australia.

Presenting The Troll

Hey,

Thought you boys might like this old piece. It's a 1st series Clark Michigan Tractor Shovel Model 12-b. Motor runs mint, not a clatter, and the hydraulics all work, although needing a couple hoses. Just found a master cylinder, tires have been changed and the fuel system cleaned up. Ready for snow. This summer I'll beat up some new body panels for it. Traded a small lawn tractor for it.
