Looking for Info on this truck

View attachment 163332
The company I work for acquired this Kenworth that had been converted to a watertruck. We are all curious to know any history on this truck. We think it came from the Cowichan Lake area, but are not sure. It has been kept the BCFP colours. The truck's number were under old paint --found this picture through the number of the truck, but don't know any history. I think the number is 6-276 - maybe. TIA ~mistx
I think you will find that this truck is 6-278 which was ERT #28 purchased in 1977 or 78 It had a 12v-71 n and a 6061 Allison with 91000 100 inch clarks. It was driven by a fine gentleman named Jake Derksen until his retirement

This truck and ERT #27 which was driven by Tom Masters until retirement were purchased without trailers. They got trailers that were 50 ton sprung trailers which were part of the hayes pup trailers bought in the late 60s and used to pull pups up to 64 miles from the Ucona to the dump into the early 70sThe trailer on ERT#26 or 6-276 was also one half of a pup trailer. The remaining half of the pup trailers was put behind ERT#20 an 849RF The old trailer off of #20 was then put behind #21 which then got a funnel and could accept the reach on the old #20 reach.Previously #21 had been Tom Masters truck since 1965 and as he was our forman he did not pull pups and #21 had no funnel on end of the reach and had a pintle hitch on the truck

20170125_120513.jpg Thanks guys. I was pretty sure I'd get some info on this site. Here she is in her 'retirement'. As I said before, the company colours were kept even though she is now a water truck.
I am fairly new to the forum, but am enjoying it all.

Someone told me recently that "Boar Logging" had the last KW 850 ever built and that it was actually put together back east after the Burnaby plant shut. Anyone know if there is truth to that?
I work with a guy, runs our tool crib, who drove for Borers. Remembers when they got rid of 849s and went to 850, 4 I believe, and started work at Doc creek on the coast. I have A couple other friends who worked for them also. Ill do some digging. Let ya know

Looks like the grader got out there early enough so tire chains were not needed.

Otherwise you would have been madly working in the fab getting a set made….

Looks good!

Thanks very much guys. We haven't really had much snow here since I got into building this stuff so yesterday I had almost everything out on test runs.lol

It was surprisingly sunny here yesterday and I needed to get out of the shop for a bit so I did a little "load" testing with the mini 850.
