Age Over 25 and Under 60 ???????????

So age tells you how good they may or may not be does it
In most parts of Asia Pacific (Australia, New Zealand & Pacific Rim) you would
Face court with an advert such as that.
It would be seen as discrimination.

From person experience I know many brilliant Mechanics outside of that age group.
I also know many so called Mechanics with enough certificates and papers to
cover a wall who are in within the age groups that you specify that
I would not even trust with a spanner on a machine.

Whats best, Someone with a piece of paper that says they can do the job
or someone with No Papers But can do the Job?
I know which one I would choose anyday.

It should be on ability to do the job.

In my operation here in Laos I have many under 25s
(Both Male & Female) many 60+ and even a 74yo.
All great Technicians.

I totally agree with a previous response.
That a Good CAT tech would not even entertain the idea of moving for such a short term.

As it is some time since the origional thread was posted
It would be interesting to see what transpired.

So how is he supposed to advertise the position?
"this is a free-for-all if you show up and you can 'talk a good fight' and your mate says your good on spanners you got the job?"
As he said its short-term leading to a longer term position to see how it works out - for both parties, that would seem completely normal to me. The world is getting smaller all the time.
