    HELP NEEDED /water in ditch

Yeah you may need to over dig slightly and do what heavy says, put in 4 inch or maybe even 6 inch rock and then add your 3/4 or 1 inch bedding. That deep with the water just make sure you are sloped or benched properly or the best bet is to use a shield.

your views of the new case super n

The company i work for bought several this spring. While i am not a fan of case backhoes they seem to be nice machines. With the tier 4 you can't let them idle for very long at all. But other than that they seem pretty close to the m series. I will say the hoe is very quick. As for the longer...

    komatsu pc400lc-6 vs pc400lc-7

The 345 We had was a cl. I think it had a 160 gallon tank. Don't quote me on that but it would burn almost 3/4 a tank in 10 hours when running in the highest power setting.

    komatsu pc400lc-6 vs pc400lc-7

10 hour shift. And I saw what I saw. When a 400 is struggling to pull a 5 foot bucket and the 345 is acting like it is not even there to me that is pretty convincing. Also taking over two minutes to load an over the road truck with a 40 ton hoe is very slow. 45 sec. to 1 min when 3 buckets fills...

which would you rather have. Cat 941 or Fiat-Allis FL-14

Keep the cat for sure. Parts supply alone is worth it.

    komatsu pc400lc-6 vs pc400lc-7

fuel economy is similar on all these days but a cat 345 will out dig a 400 when all other factors are the same. I seen it with my own eyes. Same operator, same dirt being loaded, same trucks hauling to the same spot and the 345 with 2500 hrs got 175 more loads a day than a 400 with 4500 hrs...

Thoughts on Deere 450 track loaders

Thanks. I plan on just using it around the house. I have several acres of thick brush to clear, some grading work, and a small lake to build.

Thoughts on Deere 450 track loaders

I am thinking of buying a 450 Deere track loader. It is a 1976 model and is in pretty good condition. I have always ran cat highlifts and never deere machines. I would like to know the pros and cons of this particular machine and any major issues these models are known for. Any info would be...

    Manual thumb

Although I am not a big fan of thumbs on trackhoes they do come in handy at times when clearing. The one thing i have noticed when comparing fixed to hydraulic is that over time a fixed thumb will start to rattle and after 4 or 5000 hours it can get pretty annoying. It does not seem to be as big...

Slow track motor only in reverse.

It may sound like to easy of a fix but like John C. said first make sure there is no dirt or other debris under the pedals. Even the smallest amount of dirt can have a huge effect. I had a similar problem on a 300 Komatsu I was running and after taking the floormat out completely and cleaning...

tractor pans or scrapers which do you like better

I've always been curious about the lifespan of rubber tracks on tractors (such as challengers) that are used to pull pans. I have seen a couple around here in columbia missouri and it is the first time I have seen any around here. I would assume the ground here in central MO. would eat them up.

    D9 R's pulling pans(pics)

Not sure. I know they hired several new guys this past spring, but like most companies here in missouri we are slowing down for the winter months. But they usually do some hiring in late winter/spring time. Yeah laundry left me a little confused.

    Komatsu lifetime?

Just my 2 cents but the thing that bothers me the most about high hours komatsus is the sloppiness of the controls. New they are tight and after about 6000 hrs. they seem to get really sloppy. All of our 300's over 8000 hrs are like this contrary to the 330's we have with higher hours feel...

Yeah they still use the D-9s and pans. They are all in osage beach missouri right now.

    Cat 385's Part 2

I don't know the yardage on the 345 but the 385 is 9.5 but probly over 10 easily if you heap it. I know in dirt 3 buckets fill a 740

    Cat 385's Part 2

They are called rock pro buckets and they are garage. They were fairly cheap and they wanted to try them out. The 345 one is not bad but the 385 one is not as easy to load because of the shape and is constantly needing welding because it keeps cracking all over.

    D9 R's pulling pans(pics)

They used to push load but after 3 bottoms ripped out no more of that. If you keep the area ripped if it is rocky they self load easily.
