    Austin Western Pacer 300

I went and looked at it today. It’s a pretty tight machine for its age for sure. I think I’ll find the parts I’m after. There’s a lot of parts machines around. I like the simplicity of the components on the machine. Not a lot of specialty stuff on it. Hydraulic system is all common looking.

A So your telling me we imported axles to build a grader in the late 60s from Britain. That’s weird.

    Austin Western Pacer 300

I know this thread is old but maybe I can revive for a question. Are these axles a military surplus. Where could a person find a axle shaft and a hub insert that connects the axle to the wheel hub.

    John Deere 850c series 1

I have stumbled across a low time 850c series one. I am under the impression that it is mechanical in its drive controls. Series 2 has electric track control. Is this correct thinking. Also did these tractors have enough cooling capacity. It will have to do a lot of long pushes in hot weather. I...

    Case 1150m

I am looking for d5, John Deere 700 size machine. 700 John Deere is a popular machine in this line of work.

    Case 1150m

I am seriously considering buying one of these. Looking for reasons not too. I am a fire dozer contractor in California. I have a cat d6d right now. Hydrostatic drive is awesome in this line of work. The case dealer really wants to sell me a tractor to be in this segment of work. I’m thinking I...

    John Deere 670

Thanks for the info Gary. Did John Deere brakes seem to be ok.

    The Ultimate Medium Dozer?

Dealer support. If the manufacturer builds a machine that we all could work on. Then why would the dealer need machanics. Dealers have to be making good money of the shops. Think about all the return business they get. I thought the case dozers with the tilt over cab was a good step in the...

    John Deere 670

Im doing some research on John Deere graders. Looking at a older 670A or 670b. I see the controls are different. How reliable were they. I know cat is the standard. I just can't afford them. Looking at Deere, champion, or a Komatsu, Gallion. Older Deere seems to be what I'm after. Mainly because...

    Komatsu

I don't remember being able to counter rotate. Maybe I just never tried. It feels like the turn under power is variable hydrostatic on the d65. Td15e shifts like a two speed. Seems like a lot of shifting to just drive down a road.

    Komatsu

can anyone explained the torque flow transmission. I've ran a d65-12 with that transmission. I've also ran a dresser with some variation of it. Td15e. Seems like a traditional setup with a two speed or a hydraulic variable drive between the finals and the steering clutches. Just wondering how...

    Case 1650

I think the 1150 is a better size for me anyway.

    Case 1650

Probably going to pass on a machine that's getting hard to get parts for.
