    Overload of the Day

I see now why a friend quit the backhoe business. Hard to justify the rig needed to move one.

    Snow removal equipment

At the New York area airports, I look for (using Bing maps)what they use to move all the snow. All three of the big ones have fleets of yellow equipment, but they also have a few red pieces, usually a ramp plows. Why are they red? Specific purpose? Thanks for the help.

    Things done at Work

I live/work off of 155th street so have been watching the new bridge at 150 highway. Have you had anything to do with the 435 bridge they are putting in?

    Different use for a ADT

That is even more cool than what I saw!!! The machine I saw was a normal ADT with the dump bed and a snow plow on the front. Obviously there are many ways to utilize the ADT that I haven't thought of. THANKS FOR THAT PICTURE. That would be a cool custom build.

    Different use for a ADT

Did anyone catch the CNN article about the weather in Europe being just as bad as we have it here? They very briefly talked over a video of an airport and the problems they were having with delays. Across the bottom of the screen goes an ADT (Volvo, 25-30ton?) with a snow plow on the front...

    Steel mill heavy equipment

Bing Maps search of Dearborn Michigan shows good photos of the pot carriers. One view has maybe the biggest one on the road, then another view shows 6-7 of them in one area; three still useable, 3-4 in dis-repair. Pretty cool! Thanks for showing the pictures.

Any pictures of what would pull this trailer?

Now, I no longer drive truck but..... I'm pretty sure I wouldn't put 250 tons on that trailer and pull it with a normal road tractor as it sits in the picture. I am sure it is special purpose built, but with no evidence of a jeep and the way it is angled up in the back (due to the way it is...

    Interesting problem....

Here in S. KC/Belton Mc Aninch has been building a new lot for Adesa Auto Auction. Yesterday I go by and notice they are pushing more dirt in the front area which I will call an extra wide ditch. Problem is the dirt looks like concrete! Fresh concrete! Then I notice a small Cat paddle scraper...

    Wheeled excavators.

Anyone on here ever run or seen a US Air Force crater repair excavator? It was a John Deere 690? with six tires, three on each side with the center axle slightly lower than the other two for turning purposes. These tires were equally spaced unlike your description of a space between the "front 1...

    Cat 740 offroad dump

I watched this dump for a half hour yesterday trying to get out of a sort wet clay hole. The problem was his right tire was in the hole and it wouldn't spin! None of the right side tires would spin unless the dozer was trying to help and lifted the rear end up. He had a D8 or 9 working around...
