Tower Crane Operator (FM GRU 2560)
Hey, so I'm a member of a British Crane forum, and there is a lot of doom and gloom on those forums, and I'm seeing quite a few jobs being shelved/cancelled in mid-construction up here on the West Coast of Canada, I can think of 2 w/tower cranes up right now, and another 2 that never made it past excavation, numberous shelved, and the possible demise of another project with a crane up in the new year, I'm just curious as to what other operators, or cranes or other equipment are noticing w/the Tower Crane industry, as our machines are fairly specific to office/condo and bridge construction...Interested to hear if there are many other TC ops on here if they are seeing cancellations of jobs, and tighter competition for those cranes available. Cheers
Ed

a ton of our local's tower operators are in the hall. work in chicago is gone. nothing big on the books. 3 years ago you couldn't rent a tower to save your butt, now the yards are full.
good luck.

Towers in NYC that went from job to job for years are now yard bound with near no new work starting.
