He shouldn't have been driving that close at all.

I have some pix (got to find them) of a local contractor, his brand new 312 flipped on its side because he had his LABORER move it alongside of a NEW house that had had an open trench running parallel to the house right after HEAVY rain for two days strait. :pointhead :rolleyes: :Banghead
He drove maybe 1' off to the side of the trench and it gave in, the excavator flipped on its side and the boom smashed into the side of the house.
