If you are referring to the new EC250DL range of Volvo gear...they are brilliant. It's basically the same as a EC240CL just with the pumps turned up for a bit more speed and a few minor changes here and there. In my opinion both of our EC240CL machines have been exceptional machines.

Hi the new 250 uses electro /hyd control ,servo press sensors send signal to ecu to then regulate pumps, 250 uses same pump as 300d, the hyds appear bulletproof and most of the issues i have seen are related to regeneration probs.

Both the the "C" series and the "D" series uses positive control (hyd pilot controls/electronic pump regulation). Neither of the models mentioned use the same exact pump but they are very similar.

The 250 is a very solid machine and regeneration issues should be minimal now. If you wait until after the beginning of the new year you can purchase a tier 4 final machine which will have a different system on it.

Hi as far as im aware the 240c was negative control, the newer 250d as you say is now positive control, regeneration issues are still common place over the whole excavator range and i believe that only the volvo eng and not the deutz will be available with add blue sys in the new year.the later will follow at a later date. you are correct about the pumps they look exactly the same but have slightly different flow rates.

Everything below EC340 was positive control in the "C" series(B series were all negative control). All Volvo tier 4 final engines will be either SCR or DOC/DPF/SCR. The D11, D13, and D16 will be introduced first(probably February) and the D8, D6 and D4 should be phased in by mid year. The D11 will be SCR only all other engines will be DOC/DPF/SCR combination. So before year end all new models will be using DEF.

If you search on Youtube you will find videos outlining the new tier 4 final systems.

Done a bit of digging in prosis, ec240c is neg flow control as per regulator id, kr3-s-9-(n)-29, the n relates to negative flow control as in the b series id - kr3-g-2-n-24 this is uk spec for both machines. Ec340 not avail in uk but all m/cs above 240 still had neg control in c series. Had a look on you tube at videos - interesting.

Correction, Both pump are the same however they use different regulators. We are a sister company that sales complete pump units exclusive to the US and Canada. They are set up different but the previous post is correct that they have just "Turned them up" for more power. Alot of the Equipment manufacturers are doing the same thing. The Kawasaki pumps are bullet proof. We sell tons of them to our dealer network.
