The 6wd only works on occasion, it has a parking brake lever. If the parking brake lever is half way engaged it will activate the 6wd when the floor button is pushed. Wtf! Volvo mechanic didn't know what was going on. Help please

The floor button always engages 6x6. All diff locks as well as longitudinal diff lock are engaged. Loaders are the same way. That's your get out of jail card.
The bit with the park brake, ? Who plays around with a half applied brake lever? On or off , that's where it wants to be. But the park brake , I believe locks up #2 longitudinal and diff lock , IIRC
