The little things that add up

Generally with safety we think of avoiding catrostrophic injury. We tend to disregard those threats that add up over time. Repetative motion injurys, dust control, exposure to loud noise. This is where most short cuts are made and what we suffer from later on. That ringing in your ears, coughing up diesel/dust and crap coming out your eyes at the end of a day takes its toll by the time you reach senior status.
I've seen the difference between equipment design in the last 50 years and applaud the erogonomics that have have become standard features and make equipment less tiring and more effective to operate.
