As it happens, I was standing beside the 171R about this time last year. I didn't have the presence of mind to take any pics unfortunately...

Kiwi; got any pictures of your new 70 yet? Heard it will be up Bidiford way some where. Might be a good bike ride.

Just a quick reply as it is getting late. Did Mangoihe have the Madill 120 when you were with them? The rubber 171 is now in Northland with Montana Logging. There are some pictures of it in the Madill thread of this forum.

Mangoihe did import a used 124 (#12413 I think) around end of 01. I have it down as being onsold now.

Indeed it was. You're on to it. It has a Cummins motor now though.

Sorry I took so long to reply, I forgot to come back to this the other night...

TTY6150 - Loggin_it reply

Will try to get some scanning done during the week

A couple of pics of TTY 6150 (#T5100) at FIME 98 logging show at Rotorua just before it was delivered to Mangoihe. There's a better than average chance that this one is yours as I'm not aware of any others down this way. I have a spec sheet scanned but isn't very clear when reduced to 640 pixels - work in progress.

TTY 6150 Specs

Have split spec sheet into two files to try and make it readable - here goes. Also, have noticed a mistake in the heading, 'TSY', and as I remember, they only had four guylines.

Roadswitcher; Mangoihe do have a 120 now. There is a photo of one of their new diggers with the 120 behind it in one of the NZ Logger magazines.

This is an early TMY 70 that I suspect has had a 5th guyrope retro fitted onto it.

Good shots of the 70 and 255 - worked on both - the 70 when it originally came in over here (Oz) and the 255 when Jake Rua got it in up near Hicks Bay - couldn't quite make out the signwriting on the cab but it's different to what Jake had so I guess it has a new owner. Also, there were at least four 70's that I know of down here that had the extra guy drum added by RossCorp.

This machine has a TMY 50 serial number, and was apparently stretched and converted at Ross Corp before heading down to NZ. Apparently still has 8v71T power plant.
