In the lower right corner of each post, you'll see several options. To quote the post in question, so that others can click on your quote, and get linked back to the post in question, you just click on "reply with quote." That's what I just did for you post, and you'll see a little button just to the right of your name in the quote balloon. Click that, and it'll take you back to your post. It's not needed so much when there's only been a reply or two since the post you're quoting, but if there are many replies, or you're quoting something from a page or two back, it can save people some confusion.

The other way is, when you've clicked on the "go advanced" button to compose your reply, to look at the row of icons just above the box you're typing in. The one that looks like a balloon is the "quote" button. Either click on it, and paste the text you want to quote in between the tags that appear, or highlight the text you want to quote, and then click on the button, and it'll put the quote tags around the text for you.
