getting hyd oil from tank into engine oil, any suggestions to check?

Yep hydraulic pump. 1 of the easier fixes.

The steering pump on right side of engine can put hydraulic oil in the engine also. Main hydraulic pump in center of floor right behind dash and the steering pump are the only 2 pumps that could get oil from hydro reservoir to the crankcase. Good luck
