Hello. I was operating my Takeuchi TL8 normally when the engine trouble indicator light turned on and began flashing with an audible beep. I scanned the engine trouble codes to find an SPN 132 FMI 4 trouble code (Mass Air Flow Low). I replaced the mass air flow sensor with a new one and disconnected the positive battery cable (in an attempt to reset the trouble code). The trouble code is still present as well as the flashing indicator light and audible alert.

I now have another trouble code in addition to the one above. An SPN 3701 FMI 15 (PM Accumulation Level 3). I assume this is referring to the exhaust particulate matter and a regen is needed. I attempted to complete a forced regen but the machine will not go into a regen. I believe this is because of the machine has to have the trouble codes cleared before a regen can take place.

I have read that the dealer might have to do the regen. Do you guys have any additional tests or things to check before a take it in to the dealer? I appreciate the help.

If your machine has a slow beep then it's asking for a Regen. Hold the Regen switch down for 5 seconds after the machine is warmed up and you flip up your lever lock and turn throttle down. Wait 15ish seconds and if it does nothing or code 3701 fmi 16 or 0 come up it's tool late. Fmi 15 is your last change at a success Regen before dealer is needed. If it won't Regen itself try running it around wide open throttle and see if it gets enough exhaust temp to lower the soot level.
