Hello folks, I am posting here with an odd question and I am not really sure this is the place I should go, but I figured someone could at least point me in the right direction.
I am a mechanical engineer specializing in servo-hydraulic systems and I have some ideas for a super high temperature actuator. It would have position control like a servo-hydraulic system but would be able to operate directly in 1000F environments. As far as I know nothing like this exists, normally you use a regular hydraulic actuator with a long cooled rod to work in hot environments. I am curious if any other designers/operators think there would be a need in the industrial market for an actuator system that can operate directly in those harsh environments. Does this tech not exist because it's impossible, not profitable, or maybe simply because no product exists engineers don't attempt to design foundries or glass melting furnaces or nuclear reactors with in-situ actuators?
