Here are a few pics of the finished slope failiure job. I tried not to damage any trees, but its hard to set stones around them and not do some damage. The marks you see on the hemlock tree are from the lifting ring on my bucket.

Dirty: I was looking for a place to get some nice scenery pics for you but It was kind of a gloomy day. If the oppurtunity arrises today I will get some, it's snowing right now  (not too hard though)

I almost forgot the one of the equipment! Looks like the loader needs a wax job, its pretty faded compared to the 110, and its 2 years newer.

Thanks for the pics Nedly. Is this location down the hill from where you had to move the house?

When I'm typing a long response I do a Control-A Control-C when I'm finished typing which selects and copies the text in case something happens. If it is lost Control-V will paste it back so I can try again.

Wait till the snow stuff is gone, I am not ready to see snow yet. Always look forward to seeing your pictures, just a plus to see what is in the back ground,as it is so pretty.

We have had a great fall but still have a lot of work to do before snow starts.

Nedly, Looks like if they didn't wash you away with floods and hurricanes this year, they are going to hit you with a bunch of snow. Ready or not looks to be headed your way, bud. Will be lots of white in your pictures.

The forecast looks like the majority if it is going to be south of us, they are looking at 6-12. We are in the1" area, that's fine with me, although anything can happen!

Hope they are right Nedly, to early for a big snow. Make everything a slimmy mess around here when that happens.

Well Nedly, how did you fare, much snow? Looks like south of you got plenty, so maybe you were right and just got a dusting, this time. I am sure you will be getting plenty latter on, when you are more ready to be plowing instead of working in the dirt.

It all stayed south. My sister lives in NW Mass. and they got 2' at her house. She was here for the weekend though so she missed out on all of the fun.The pics I've seen it looks like a sloppy mess, so I'm glad i stayed south of us!

Sorry OAW, I missed this post, thanks for the tip, I will keep that in mind. the slope job is in a different location, lots of banks giving way this year with the weather we've had.

Road job pics.

I snapped a few pics from a little road job we are doing. I ended up driving the single axle on this project, it's been quite a while since I've driven it this much but I'm having fun with the old girl. Just a few random pics, and some scenery shots for dirty!

You do get to work in some picturesque country, Nedley and what's more, I'll bet the wind doesn't blow there, either. I have had three weeks of wind and dust where I am working at the moment, that's why I enloy looking at yours and CD's pics. I can only imagine what it would be like to work in those surroundings.

I had to run and pull a few big stumps for a tree guy (two was a load on the tandem), so I snapped a couple while I was there. It was a gloomy day, but you get the idea of the view. thats the driveway at the bottom of the ledge. And one of a small stream crossing job we are on.

Humongo stump....did the guy have to cut the tree down? Is that a concrete pipe between the 2 excavators?

Thanks for the nice pics Nedly.

yup he cut it down. Took it out in16' sections. His70 up tractor will only lift the butt log 4" of the ground
. That's a precast bridge abutment between the excavators.

Thanks Nedly, I have to give you an A+ for the last couple of times of picture taking. You must have to work pretty reasonable, to be in such beautiful surroundings.

The only good thing we have been dry so I haven't seen much mud, just one job. I dug an old driveway tube out and set a new tube a couple weeks ago, for the township. the ground on one end was soft as the old tube was plugged. Put some rock under it, covered it and a couple days latter had a good soaking rain. A fellow drove his semi over the tube and the tube went down about six inches. Of course on the inlet side. So dug it up again, and had to put some 3-6 inch rock under and rock to level off for the tube. I had forgotten how sticky that clay gets when water sits on it. Looked like a cat trying to shake water off it's foot, trying to get the sticky clay out of the bucket.

We don't have any confirmation of wolves in our area, though there is rumor that they have been released. I have seen some awfully big "Coyotes" in the last few years. A lot of people feel that we do have a wolf population in this area.

So we were in a big hurry this week to finish what we had scheduled. We ended up with 14" of snow on Wednesday, so we had a lot to pack into two days. We stabilized a creek bank that was storm damaged from Irene, installed a drain to daylight (no pics of that one) and did some grading around a new house. There was a ton of building materials in the way so we worked around it. It wasnt in the low area so we really didnt need to move it, though if it hadnt been time sensitive I would have just to have some elbow room. Then we headed for the shop to make sure the trucks were going to stay together. Nothing like 14" of we heavy snow on semi-frozen ground!!!
