Slow slew once worked hard for a few hours

Hi everyone, wondering if anyone can help ? yesterday after shifting tons of heavy clay and dirt say around 3 or 4 hours when grabbing a full bucket of dirt and slewing at the same time the slew became very slow and weak almost grinding like.
Once the machine had cooled down for a while it would be smooth and go back to normal but once it started to get hot again would do the same thing.
Has anyone got any advice on what this could be ?

Grinding does not sound so good suggest you drain the transmission see if there is any evidence of impending failure.

Thank you uffex, its not so much grinding as more slow, stop the go a bit. When the machine is cold for first 2 or 3 hours it slews as smooth as, only when it seems to get hotter and under load.
