A pier of mine has just informed that he wants to sell his 2011 D5k2 XL. He has been running it on wildland fire work this season and now wants to upgrade to a D6. I've always wanted a D5 and now one has fallen into my lap. Whether, or not, I would be wise to buy one is another question.
Current owner (I know he's not the original owner) states that it has no leaks (probably true since he uses it for wildland fire work), has sweeps and screens (screens are home-made), and the U/C is at 60%. It is equipped with an aftermarket ripper (3 shank), enclosed cab (claims all glass is good) with A/C and heat, new cutting edges, and 3,428 hours. He's asking $74k.
Does this sound like a good buy?
Are there any problems that these units are known for?
