I picked up a new (to me) 20 ton tag trailer, the ramps weight a ton, the assist springs are broken.

just curious... I never had a trailer with ramp assist springs, are they worth replacing, will they make much of a difference (or do I need to find another solution)? I am assumng they only come into play when lifting the ramps off the ground and back onto the trailer.

My last two trailers had the springs, they were well worth the cost. trailer truck supply houses , carry them not too bad on the cost. they come in different sizes

You can get them at any shop that builds trailers, they'll stock them.

I think i paid $65 ea, they were the heaviest he had.
