1166e

This was turned out at the end of 1977. Koehring was marketing this more toward the mining industry with this excavator. The bend in the boom is a lot greater than the 1066. Better desinged for production in shallower digging. The 1166E has Detroit 12V71N power, is 10 tons heavier than a 1066E and could reach, dig, dump about a foot and a half more than the 1066E. It is designed to handle a 3 to 5 cu.yd. bucket. They did have a mass excavation attachment and a front shovel for it. For a few years the 1066 had it for a bigger brother. somewhere in the early to mid eighties Koehring stopped producing it. Hope this helps.

The 1166E was introduced in 1978. This machine was always an "E". I believe it was discontinued in the early 80's

Thanks Koehringman. Do you know if this model introduced before or after the 1266?

Also, what was the control setup on this machine? Was it still air/hyd?

After the 1266D. The 1266D was introduced in 1974. The control setup on the 1166E was joystick that was hydraulic over hydraulic.
