Hi,
i have a question about Perkins engine 1004-40T
Does this engine has protection form (valve hit piston) if there is something wrong with timing gears?

unintentionally i started the engine and The crank gear wasn't tight after "that start" Clearly the crank gear has moved outward and timing gears In the wrong line for sure .

after that disaster i start over again timing marks line up and start the engine looks fine, Works smoothly, no strange sounds,,, But I'm still not sure if there are internal problems?

I want to know if this engine is protected from such mistake?
