In the summer of 190 my Friend Mike Beesley came to Canada for visit and toured the pacific factory here are some of his pictures.

A few more from Mike. I realize that this is not a logging truck...........BUT Oct. 1991 is when the factory closed its doors, this was titled as a 1991.
1991 model PFC 410 was originally built for Concrete Replacements Ltd. of Kansas City and was sold through Schwing of America. If any one knows what happened to this truck could you let me know.

In August 2006 I was at Coast Power Train and these 3 ex Franklin P-16 trucks were there. If I remember correctly 2 were being rebuilt and have been sold, one was going to turn in to a Heavy Haul truck. These 3 trucks had Cat 3412 motors for power, which many would consider a best for power.

Soory I do not have the answer for you right handy, I will have to find a serial # plate. I can guess but I think not. Some one else here should be able to us out on this one.

Every Hayes or Pacific Off Highway logging truck I've driven has a GVW ( Gross Vehicle Weight ) Plate like that , there really isn't any way of telling how much a loaded off highway log truck actually weighs unless it crosses a scale at the dump or is weighed by a A Frame dump when load is lifted off . You can tell that a load of mountain side fir or cedar is lighter than a load of valley bottom load of wet hemlock or balsam , or how much volume of wood the loader has managed to pile on the truck. The driver has a pretty good idea if its over loaded or not by the way it leans on the corners and the way it pushes going down hills.

Thanks camptramp, I was thinking the 66,224 hg is max load just on the truck and 226,796 it GVW (gross vehicle weight) when loaded truck and trailer combined. 11,793 is empty weight of truck when it left the factory, 54,431 is truck and trailer empty. I may be wrong but that is how I figure it out with highway trucks.

Hank R, close, but the 11793 is the front axle weight rating (about 25,000 lbs) and the 54,431 is the rear. This truck had 120,000 rears.

HDX,after answering questions about lowbed and truck weights,I would like to know where controls are for 5th wheel and trailer loading.I had 3 inthe 87 but nothing like this. You will be busy tonite. Lol
