Overload of the Day

For about 5 years in the early 00's every time we visited Missoula we would see a truck laid over in the "loops" east of Haugan. One time we met hundreds of apples rolling down the road it was that fresh.
I like the new warning sign: We aren't fooling, slow down. Not sure how much effect it will have.
I don't have a picture, but there was an 11 axle, live bottom asphalt truck/trailer combo laid on its side in Battle Creek, MI this week. I don't have the story of how he went over, but it was on a side road so I'm suspecting he got too far over and the ditch gave way.

We rolled a parked grain truck that way in 2016. Our driver pulled a loaded truck off to the shoulder near where his pickup was parked. Got out, heard a groaning noise and watched the grain truck slide sideways and then roll to its side. Spilled about 250 bushel of corn into the ditch. That was a pain to clean up. We used our loader to right the grain truck, then lots of hands on shovels recovering as much corn as we could.

Can't tell what the tow vehicle is. Trailer looks like tires are tilting. Six metric tons (approximately) is a lot on a four tire trailer.
Some of the single rear tired pickups have tow rating that'd shock you. Of course, my farmer friend would tow that with a four cylinder Ranger. His is rusted so bad I expect front half of the truck to drive away, leaving the rear with the trailer.

If this isn't an overload waiting to happen I don't know what is:

There is a guy around here that has been toiling away for months with one of these gooseneck log trailers behind his one-ton pickup. I don't know all the details, but there is a steep hill that he broke down on, trail of ATF all the way from the bottom. Must have gotten it fixed because he was back at it this week. People go to such great lengths these days to avoid buying a medium/heavy truck.

There's a small time logger near me that runs two similar gooseneck trailers for hauling logs. He built his trailers, but same premise. Work the living crud out of a pickup and fix it when (not if) it breaks. The rest of the local loggers run semi trucks with various trailers

Well I have a 2006 Ranger that has no rust so I should be good right?

My neighbor wanted Black Locust logs for a structure his wife dreamed up. Roger supplied them. He delivered 5 10" diameter top end 16 foot logs with the rusty Ranger. I expect he had to steer when the front wheels bounced.

We have a four lane highway begins 11 miles from here. I was heading home, came up behnd a mini excavator on a trailer. When I caught up, sure enough, it was Roger in the Ranger.

When the manufactures build vehicles like the one below, marketing it in such a way to
cause the general public to think they can haul/tow anything---the trailer manufacturing
companies are given every advantage to follow the lead by building attachments they
know the public will just have to have to compliment the He-Man do it in the dirt truck they
paid TOO much for. ---------------BIG NOSE DODGE.

Have a 2019 RAM 3500 dually that's been a great truck. Going to replace it this year with another BIG NOSE RAM with a CM truck bed for the crew. :D

Dodge/Ram has the ad showing a 1 ton like above pulling a backhoe, well sort of. It's on a construction site and never on an actual road. It should have a disclaimer that it is not recommended on public roads. Not much difference than the ad showing a truck pulling a space shuttle. It's just marketing hype. The manufacturers should be held liable if someone has or causes an accident because they were trying to duplicate what was shown in an ad or commercial.
