Our Minnesota Chapter of the ACMOC club was gave a nice RD6 by a very generous donor. A couple of the club members pulled the deck and installed new steering clutch and brake linings. It runs like a top and is very tight. It was well maintained in its previous life. Saturday we all got to see it and hear the D6600 3 cylinder run.

1. The club gathered for a picture.
2. The clubs hard working youth core. They are the future of the club and some of them are already experienced and safe operators.
3 and 4 a couple of angle shots.

More pictures of RD6 with Letourneau cable dozer. A few close ups for the detail minded.
1. Showing off the new Hahn seat.
2. Letourneau CCU unit.
3. The center of the angle blade sets on a ball and the top floats free resting against the top of the blade.
4. Because of the ball in picture 3, one can pick any of the holes to pin the blade when angled allowing tilt at the same time.20180609_133757.jpg 20180609_133819.jpg 20180609_133918.jpg 20180609_133826.jpg

What are the pin bosses on the side originally for?

Truck Shop

You can give the blade some minor tilt by pinning in your choice of holes on one side when the blade is angled. It pivots on the trunnion at the middle bottom of the blade. Shown in one of the pictures above. Not sure what that thought process was or what job it was designed to do. Not many were made that way. When straight dozing the angle side arms can be pinned either below the main arms as shown for carrying material or be pinned above the main arms to tilt the blade ahead to cut better.
