Regarding Cranes its the same system.:)

License is divided into groups, G1 to G8, G1 Mobile, G2tower, G3portal, G4Bridge/traverse and G8 truckcrane
U can start with a course, 152 or 232 hours for a mobile crane.
Truck is shortest with 76 or 92 hours.
The difference in hours is related to if you take a course by a sertified school or as a aprentice in a firm.(a senior operator is then sertfied as a teacher)
Some of the lessons is the same, so when u have G1 u don't need a full course for G2/G3 and so on.

Then u also can join a public school and do it that way.
The license is given to you very early in the education.;)
Then u get more seat time and can go up to a test like rockbreaker is the judge for on heavy equipment.:)
U get a "letter as a craftsman" to hang on your wall. I don't know another english word for it.:confused:

If u want to have your butt in a crane, truck or heavy equipment u need a license.
This license is mandatory.
The "letter as a craftsman" is now more and more important to have.
It opens a lot of doors....:)

For heavy equipment we got klasses from M1 to M6 +M20.:)

Thanks for the reply. Now I'm wondering why did it become a requirement? Were there gettig to be to many accidents? If thats the case, since it became a requirement has there been a reduction in accidents?

There has always been some sort of courses.
In the beginning with the unions and some firms living of it.
Around 1990-1992 the workers healt department made a new law that forced the instructors and their firms/organisations to be sertified.
They also made education plans for everything.
Hours and practice to get a lisence.

Sertification is not more than having a quality system that proves you and your instructors to have the right competense around education.
And that u follow the education plans.

Accidents have gone down after the system was introdused.
Slowly but still, sinking.

Problem now is the accidents is rising dramaticaly, we tend to have to many "imported" risktakers here.(Polish workers f instanse)
They are grown up with little or no safety habbits at all..
And they always answer "Yes sir, no problem sir".

I bet u know that problem...:D

And another thing, when i wrote truck last place in my previous post i mean a lifting truck. f instance a container/pallet handler/lifter.:)

Thanks MKTEF and Rockbreaker for the information. Its the law here you have to have a certification for a forklift but not Cranes. There are way more accidents involving forklifts than cranes but there are way more forklifts too. Plus everyones qualified to run a forklift:rolleyes:

those excavators with the cranes are very intersting, are they costom build, or is there a company making them for the line crews?

If its the Multidocker you are asking about
,they are built in Sweden:rolleyes:

I guess you can say they are custom built beacuse i think you can decide most of the setup yourself.

But as always i`m not:D:confused::D sure

Hi again, i ve seen the multi dockers before, but i was talking about the excavators working with the over-head powerline crews, never seen any thing like that before they look intersting?

Yep now i got it :dizzy

Those machines are custom built,depending on type of crane they put on them.
There is one firm in Norway doing this and i have seen some machies from Sweden also.

I guess its a clever solution for terrain where the trucks dont come in:cool:

I think i seen it In Amsterdam a few times.

Haven't seen you around on E-6 lately, are you moved to another job?

Not much to do on the E6 job for me, so I just hide behind the piles for a while. :)
