I've seen some neat pics / grafics on tractor units BUT NEVER seen one on an exc, that is sweet :notworthy :cool2
Lucky the guy who puts the yellow paint on those Volvos was off that day, really is a picture.
Hello sorry for being slow to reply on the pictures of the Cat. the excavator was hit by a landslide early in the morning on 27 of november and the driver was hurt very badly and is still hospitalised, recovering from the injuries he got beeing thrown out of the excavator when the gravvel and clay tumbled the machine down the hillside.
The co workers in the company from Koren Blasting a/s, Anlegg a/s and Bredesen a/s were the driver woks did a heroic work to save the drivers life when there still was landslides coming down the driver was laying in the tree 10 meters down from the machine near the water 3 first pictures are from the same day rest of the pictures are before the saving of the machine and when we worked to get it up on the 12 and 13 th of december.
2 of the other pictures is Espen "horny" standing on top of it before i started to prepare for the rescue of the machine
Wow! Hope the operator makes a full recovery. Just goes to show how fast things can go wrong when working on steep ground. Excellent pictures and commentary. Thanks
Thats a tough recovery there.
Best wishes to the operator. Looks like he is lucky to be with you still.
Can you tell us what precautions were taken to prevent further sliding before you could undertake the recovery? Looks like a risky proposition for the machines used, and the personnel.
Hope the operator makes a full recovery. Am I correct in assuming he was thrown from the machine because he was not wearing the seat belt? I wonder if it would have helped him from being as severely injured or just further trapped him in the muck that appears to have filled the cab.
Thanks for the update and very sorry to hear the operator was injured.
From your comments his work colleages need a bloody good cheer and congratulations for having the guts to go after him and save him.
The way you say early hours, was it in the dark ?
Thanks for the pictures and info, some would think you wrong for taking them at the time, but they really show how dangerous plant operation can be, thanks.
Thanks Vikingpower for letting us all know the story behind the pics.. Glad to hear that the operator survived what must have been a close call. Working in the winter when its not more than 7-8 hours of daylight is never easy, and from the pics, it can be quite scary too.
