Here is a example of a Norwegian truck and pup combination.:)
4 axle truck and 2 axle pup. 32t+18t. (64'+36'Lbs) 50t total weight.
Here you see how they dump the load and turn.
He dumps the pup strait back first.
Then jackknives and dumps the truckload over the pups pullingbeam.
Then drives away. (He is also out and checks if there is stones on the pup)

Other combinations is a 3 axle + a 3 axle pup.
(sorry guys, i know u call it a 3 and a 2 axle truck in US;))

And yes there is a minimum distance between the last axle on the truck, and the 1. on the pup.
And a minimum distance between the first on the truck, and the last on the pup.

I'll add some pics from a project up north.
They are building a molo around the ship Murmansk, and then pumping the water out, to bring the demolition machines in on the sea bed.
Pics is from Sørøya, i belive the place in the background is Sørvær.
300 people live in that smal village.
Atlantic is straight out from the end of the wreck.
Storms has flattened the molo a couple of times.:cool2
This is way above the artic circle.....
One of the pics show the wreck and Sørvær before they started.;)

I posted a video of a L220 Vs Cat 980, that Volvo is in one of the pics.

Pics is screendumps from this camera:
http://murmansk.livecam360.com/flash/main2.php

Copyright is Kystverket or AF Miljø (Decom)?

Pics shown is live, but 24h delayed, so it might be dark when u watch!:)

Nice shear line drilled on a batter in that one photo with the 700 Volvo. Usually drill them on 600mm/2' centers here, look's about the same. Near the start of the thread , there is a Tramac stick drill mounted on a Cat 320/322- handy unit in the right setting.

Cheers from the Canadian shield, Dominion

Dozerboy: Just use the link in the post. In the summer its light all day around. I'll post some follow up when the pumping starts...
Dominion: Its strict regulations on rock bolting and taking down loose rock. On this project we priced the bolting and all, but then did a presplit.
The presplit meant that we used apr 5-10% of the planned bolts. We also only did a washdown with water instead of the normal work with crowbars..
This one is done with 3" and apr 2' centerhole, 100grams detonating cord before the main blast. A pain in the a** when the height of the blast is low.
We earned money on doing it this way, and the road authorities save money on maintenance later.
When driving along the stretch, you can see where AF has done the blasting compared to other firms.

Some great photos and video.

I like the Volvo vs Cat video. It matches my experience in the larger size with L-330 vs 988F

I also like the shots of the extended A-40's. Sad to see them in this shape, but it happens to all machines eventually.

Fantastic photos, MKTEF, I am really hooked on the live feed of the Murmansk. I have downloaded it and am watching the progress, it will be really interesting when they start to scrap it. Keep them coming.

Thank you very much guy's!
Realy appreciate it.:)

I take a lot of pics and posting some is not a big deal.
And i have to say that i enjoy your pics, as much as you enjoy mine!;)

Here is my latest video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfUGCn3zUNg
Shows how concrete is applied to walls and roof in tunnels, as a reinforcement of the mountain.
One of the spraying trucks is made by AF, the other is bought.

Taken at the face of one of the tunnels AF is bulding.
The 2. part of the film is from the opening of a new tunnel.
They bolt and put concrete on the rock, then blast smal charges unntill they get well inside the mountain.
They start with half the length and the centre part of the opening.
I have pics of that too, but thats another story.;)

I was looking your pics and...does that type of wheels without drawing good on snow and ice? or you use tyre chains too with trucks, here in Spain when it´s raining and of course snowing,we don´t work, I think that in your northern countries, when the water is freezed, all winter, do you can work? sorry my ignorance...;)

Hammerman, theese two A70's worked on Svalbard. Summer is like 3 months...the rest is snow an ice.

The first one got good wintertires, if you look close at the second one you see the pattern is cut with smal cuts all over.
Theese two adt's will handle ice and snow bether than normal tires.

Up her in Norway we work all year around.:)
Smaler adt's and smal equipment use winter chains.
Bigger equipment run all year around, and in winter we remove the snow and sand the roads. A cm with sand all over.
And of course our fillings is with good rock, so the water runs off and it dosent get muddy as down by you.:)
Have look at the Ec700C video, its filmed in the winter.:cool2

Some of you asked about our barracks.
Here is some picks of a room.:)

A sleeping barrack has 2 rooms, 1 at each end. Then there is a hallway in the middle.
Barracks is mounted at the side of each other, then connected with panels and insulation. There is also a roof panel on the roof.
Water and sewage is at one end in the corner.

Added a pic from the outside of a typical barrack system.
As you can see on the pic, the hallway in the middle of the sleeping barracks, continues into a hallway in the end of the changing barracks.;)

I'll come back with pics of other types of barracks.(kitchen, TV room, changing barracks++)
