Here we arein the high country in Colorado. Moving Lots of Snow and Mud.... does anyone how to build a swamp mat? I have some oak timbers, will they work? We pushd off about 4' of snow and loaded it out and are now finishing strippin the topsoil and organics. Salvaged a nice septic tank in the process.

The weather has been horrid, have loaded out a ton of snow at 75$ a pop to the pit or free to our yard. 30 minute turn to the pit, 120 min turn to the yard.. good keep busy work for our truck and easy. Almost done with the mud, w do not have alot of room but managed to squeeze it into the septic envelope. cleaning tracks is a bummer, no two ways about it.

Nice shots. Looks like a typical Rocky Mountain spring. By the looks of this shot I'd say the loggers got carried away though! LOL!

If it makes you feel any better i was under a tornado watch yesterday. Every year we get one really nice day and then the tornadoes start :pointhead

What's on the 435 in one of those pics, looks kinda like a clamshell bucket. I can't say i envy you in the pics with the snow coming down. First time in my life i have been sick of snow.:bash

I think it is a plate packer.

I stared at that pic for while. I knew it would make sense to be a wacker, but i couldn't see the plate. After you mention it i see that there is dirt on top of the plate, obscruing it. Oh well, it was my dumb question for the day.:pointhead

boulder buster

yeah, that is a hydraulic rock splitter, shortly after thy cracked the rock I was warming up the hoe and blue a soft line on the boom and lost lik 25 gallons of hydro. normally we move the rock to make sure the job is complete but since the hoe was down the driller's helped me pull the line and then left... after getting the wrong hose, then the right hose and washing the hoe... which was in the bottom of the hole.. multiple power washer breakdowns and a f....... tire on a rock I finally got around to moving the rock, which was not completly broken... I had to hump it up the hill for another round of drilling... all said I billd for 5 hours on the rock cluase.

More Mud

Finally got to load out the mud pile after the owner stewed over the chang order. All material was to stay on site.... so we stockpiled 1500 yards of mud and about 1500 yds of structural. Then they figured out it would be better to export the mud and keep the structural fill on site.

we have it on a lease purchase. I got a crazy deal on it. We are super busy and have a few more large digs to start so hopefully we can buy it. Just paid the 225 off and it has 5000 hrs on it so it may be perfect timing
