New master pin link is tight

Hi I replaced a master link on a jd135d. The narrow end of the new link (pipe like part) does not sit in the boar of the old link that it mates to. Is it normal to have to grind either part to make the new link roll better in the chain or will it wear in over time. The pins fit fine the new link just acts slightly seized per se....

Sorry it's a simple issue just hard to explain

Did you buy the master link pre-assembled similar what’s shown in the screenshot ?
The portion circled in red is too wide to mate with the chain ?
I suspect over time the one of the track links got tweaked inwards slightly.
How do the track pads fit up ?
