I know CAT bought a bunch of different companies last year. Is this machine a completely new CAT design or a machine from one of the companies they bought with a CAT dress on.

A Quote "One of the most exciting developments for many years was Finnings recent acquisition from Caterpillar of the former Bucyrus distribution business for £300m in January 2012. The real buzz is starting now as the first of four 300 tonne Cat 6030’s has been assembled onsite.
In a seven year deal worth £60m with Finning Equipment Solutions, mining specialist Hargreaves has invested in a totally new fleet of Caterpillar equipment, which will include four new Caterpillar 6030’s, one of which is already in place, and nineteen Caterpillar 777 Off Highway trucks, which will be delivered for use at the Tower Colliery open cast mine site in Hirwaun, Rhondda Cynon Taff, South Wales, during 2012.

These giant mining machines will be used to extract around six million tonnes of coal from the 615-acre site over the next seven years."

After trading hands several times over the last 10 years, Cat is the proud owner of O&K's mining excavators.

Finning bought the right to the distribute Bucyrus line of machines in all territories they service. That would be Western Canada, Southern Latin America, and the UK/Ireland.

777's ..... "Giants" my ar$e ........... we use them as water trucks, and they're still too small. This year we have a 789 water truck coming.

If you want something big, try this ...........

Yup if some argued that Cat didn't have a complete and utter domination in the mining sector before this may change their vote !!!!!
