Well this board seems to fit better than any of the others.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y19/balacau/Misc stuff/misc/MorookaMST1100crawlertreespade.jpg

A couple of weeks ago during a night-time drive around I took this picture of a Morooka MTS1100 rubber-crawler machine fitted with a hydraulic tree-spade; parked in the car park of a golf course.

I have emailed the UK's distributor of the Morooka crawlers but have not received any reply as of yet from them. The MTS1100 is not a current-produced model so I have my doubts whether they'd have any brochures or spec sheets for it anyway.

Does anyone have any idea where I might find such material from (apart from eBay)? I'd also love to know if small tree spades fitted to crawlers like these are common? I've seen pictures of tree spades before but all were fitted to 3 or 4 axle trucks.

Thanks for any reply.

Did you ever get a reply? Kinda looks to me like an "aftermarket" spade was put on, I just don't see how that would work. I would think it would want to tip the machine, but i'm no expert.

Unfortuantely I never did get a reply. I even asked them if they had a brochure for the now discontinued MTS-1100 which is the standard rubber track dumper on which the tree spade is mounted but never got anything back from them. Looks like the only way to get some info is from eBay (again).

I agree it does look like an aftermarket addition, so getting information on the treespade attachment itself is not going to be easy, and thats looking on the positive side. :Banghead

Did you try to call the owner of the machine?

minimax

No idea who owns it, the machine was just sitting in a golf course car park when we were out on a drive that night. I would think its some company that is pretty local but there are quite a few landscaping/environmental specialist companies around here. Maybe if I had've got a picture of the other side of the tree spade there could have been a number or company name...

Unless the machine turns up again somewhere and I see it, I guess we'll never know. :(

Gavin,

If you need any help or information on Morooka carriers let me know, I have specs on all the older models and a lot of experience with custom machines and attachments.

Hi Don

Sent you an email :) thanks very much for the offer. I guess these crawlers are like swiss army knives, you can put virtually anything on them! Good news if you are an owner; bad news if you are a brochure/literature collector like me!!

CLEGG is the manufacturer of the tree spade attachment but they make several models and have not responded to any attempts at contacting them. :beatsme

did you get anywhere with the info

Nope, no reply from them at all. Although I have been emailing other places and received some news - but nothing as far as specs for the MST-2300 and MST-1100.

I'm still checking out eBay for such things though - and here was me thinking it would be quite easy to obtain such information on the standard dumper version of these machines. That'll teach me. :Banghead :D

A thousand apologies Gavin for not getting back to you about the 2300. As an excuse I'll say that our baby girl was born February tenth and I haven't had much sleep since! A man shouldn't wait till he's fifty to start a family I suppose, but I'm very happy about it.

The Komatsu 2300 is exactly the same as the Morooka 2200, with the exception of the engine. Also the Hitachi CG-100 is just a Morooka 2200 in Hitachi colors. If you haven't got specs for the early 2200 yet I can send them along.

Hi there. Hope you all are doing well and congratulations! :)

I'll have a look around for specs on the Hitachi CG100, maybe I'll get lucky with that one.

Thanks for anything you can send :)

Last minute edit. I spent some time looking around for pdf's on the CG100 Hitachi machine, no sign of anything. Even the older machine pdf's on Hitachi's website do not list the CG100 which is a shame.
