Deere 750c, 14,000hours. Ritchie Bros.

Looked at this Deere 750c today in Prince George (selling thru the upcoming Nisku auction). Rear
Mount ripper/6 way blade/ wide pads (lots of mud here so perhaps okay on wide pads)

Budget dictates a high hour (but hopefully) useable machine. Can see pretty large amount of chain bushing wear, sprockets quite worn, upper rollers worn, but decent clearance from chain pin bosses to lower rollers & new front idlers. One main lift cylinder leaking. Equalizer bar looks tight, shims used up on blade ‘ball’ (6way) and also used up on lift frame; but look tight.

Will only use for 100h per season. Really need something to plow open road and for reclamation. Light pushing of pay.

Engine (6068) fired up instantly at -9c. New exhaust manifold visible. Moved forwards/backwards blade functions good. BUT Hydro filters warning light on….could this just mean change filters or…hydro damage?

Save yourself a lot of grief and get a running Hydraulic sample from the sampler port, get an engine oil sample, suck out a final drive sample if they will allow, if there is any oil in them, and base your judgement on that.
You may of found something good for 1000 hours fairly trouble free or a lawn ornament.
Price of the samples will be the same as toilet paper in comparison to if there is a bad something hiding inside.
Usually by that many hours they are in need of some major components.
Do they have any maintenance records for the unit. How do the cables in the battery box look.
Is the radiator half plugged. Does the winch have more water in it than oil?
Does it drip all over the ground
Lots to check.

Could the hydraulic filter warning light be activated by cold oil? I think you have to get the machine up to temperature to see if the light goes out. Are there any service records to see if there has been any hydraulic rebuilds done on machine? With 14000 hours on unit I would seriously check into the maintenance records if available.

Looking at the lit bit of white stuff, still visible in front of the blade, I expect the hydraulic filter light is on because of the temperature.
Samples would be great but looking at the pics, yes it’s all shimmed out but actually looks very decent for what you will be doing with it.
Can you verify the winch works?
Looks to be a very well used machine that was actually taken care of.
Then, there is the fact, ITS AT AN AUCTION!
Rolling dice, unless you got big coin.

Did wonder about the temperature causing the light. Our skid steer seems to do that when cold.

Winch does reel in, but couldn’t really test properly.

Didn’t really have time or means for proper testing…so headed home. Appreciate the advice!

The 850J (with rippers/6 way blade) went for $39,000 Canadian.

The 750c I thought could be in better shape comes up next week so will see if worth bidding on….

So the economy is doing that good to be buying expensive auction machinies? Some one really wanted it.

At the rate things are going I'd think they all will end up as yard art!

An 850J for $39,000 seems like a decent deal but don't know what shape everything is in. RB is really good about giving out the sellers name and contact info. You might get a good idea about the machine talking to the previous owner. Would also be good to talk to a JD dealer about any issues with the 750C dozers.

I didn't like that either! No bucket in sight. Will post up what the 750 goes for....but thinking maybe our old Euclid C6 power shift isn't so bad after all (lol!)

My buddy has said he could haul it for us, and I have a pilot car sign. It needs the track split and the new front idler & track tensioner installed (have the NOS parts). I managed to walk it as is, 8km through some very steep country last spring in 90f heat...It is now at a staging area near main haul road. Also it has a very robust ripper...
