Michigan 75b wheel loader will not move, total loss of hydraulics as well.

Was using the Michigan 75b (wheel loader with forks) today to lift a truck. lifted the truck just fine. Shut it down and waited for the work to be done, restarted the loader and it will not move forward or reverse, also the hydraulics are gone as well cannot lift or tilt. Runs just fine.

Hopefully there is something really simple that happened?

Not real familiar with that machine but sounds like a coupler on the engine failed or broke. Any weird noises?

Worked on a Sullivan 210 Compressor that worked perfect 1 minute and nothing the next. Pulled top of pump off and barred engine over and no pump turning. Had to change coupling Drive. Lots of those Clark power trains have fibre Gears in the ring gear that can strip out completely. If that has happened you will have to get everything out behind the Flywheel. Have seen fibre gear pieces falling out the plug on the bottom of some flywheel housings. Hope you find out if it is broken.

Boss man made a phone call to a parts supplier and asked if they had a fiber gear available, just on a whim. They confirmed there was a fiber gear available.
So all by myself I have been stripping the machine to remove the engine. All taken apart and waiting removal first thing tomorrow.

Most Michigan or Trojan or Clark Loaders had fibre Gears in them. At least most of the ones I seen coming apart. Is it Detroit Diesel Powered. Simon

So sorry for the delay.

Turns out the fiber gear on the torque converter was NOT the problem.....
It broke 8 of the bolts that were supposed to hold the fiber gear in. Should have been 16 bolts, but someone got cheap or lazy.....
Replaced the bolts and reinstalled everything and all was well.

Kind of thought something wqs probably wrong in fibre gear area. Usually gear brakes first. Glad you fixed it and let us know what was wrong.

Must have missed the original post but as soon as I saw the one today first guess was about a flex-plate or fiber gear problem.

Seems I recall that some of those fiber gears had special washers under the head of the bolts, extra large O.D. and maybe slightly cone shaped to spread the load over a larger area.
