I am going to service a 1998 Kobelco SK60LC excavator-

What are some common substitutes for:

"Service CD" SAE30
(used in the reduction unit for swing motor & reduction unit for travel motor)

and

Mobil DTE13M oil with High Viscosity index.
(for the Hydraulic tank)

The local parts house guys are "pretty sure" and "would bet on it" but cannot tell me they are absolutely sure on either of these.

Should I go to a Kobelco dealer to make certain?
I don't mind the price as much as the time and travel.

Thanks, Greg

SAE 30 Service CD would be regular 30 weight diesel engine oil. Easy to get in Ontario.

hi greg,
missed your posts, have not had time lately to play on forum.
sorry, please see my post on 3 more items.
i think you'll need to change the oil in the swing and drives from reading this.

Mobil DTE13M oil with High Viscosity index.
(for the Hydraulic tank)
in that post i gave you cross references for this hyd oil
you can compare with what you used.
most oil suppliers do not readily stock this oil for many are not ready to spend the kind of money. so,...they sell you indoor hyd oil instead for it is more widely used.
mainly in industrial indoor hyd power units.
adam.
